WHAT IS ONE MILLION C.A.T.S?
One Million C.A.T.S is a project to inspire a million Curious, Audacious, Tenacious people across the planet to pick one big, bold, outrageous goal and go for it! We are fueled by the wisdom of Howard Thurmon who said: : “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Our goal is to help 1,000,000 C.A.T. people...

The idea of One Million C.A.T.S. came to me in the form of a series of questions. They were bouncing around inside my head as I was riding along the seemingly endless Extraterrestrial Highway in Nevada’s Great Basin Desert. I was six days into a 31 day, coast to coast, 3,400 mile bicycle ride across the US. Every day had been dirty, uncomfortable and hard, and yet, I was having the time of my life. So I asked myself… "I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE WOULD LOVE TO DO SOMETHING BIG BUT THEY ARE STRUGGLING TO OVERCOME THE FEAR, SELF-DOUBT OR GUILT OF STEPPING OUTSIDE THEIR COMFORT ZONES? “AND... I WONDER IF I COULD CREATE A GLOBAL COMMUNITY OF THESE DREAMERS WHO JUST NEED THE RIGHT INSPIRATION TO TRADE A LITTLE COMFORT FOR A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE? AND... WHAT AMAZING LESSONS AND STORIES COULD THESE INTERESTING PEOPLE SHARE ABOUT DEVELOPING THE MENTAL MINDSET TO PURSUE OUTRAGEOUS IDEAS? By the time I reached the tiny isolated town of Rachel, NV (population:70 and the UFO spotting capital of the US, 30 miles from Area 51) I had some answers. One million CURIOUS, AUDACIOUS, TENACIOUS "C.A.T." people has a nice ring to it. That’s a tribe of people I’d like to have a beer with. Okay, I'm in. Just 999,999 to go. WHO ARE C.A.T. PEOPLE? THEY ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE UNCOMFORTABLE BEING COMFORTABLE. WHEN LIFE GETS TOO CUSHY, THEY GET RESTLESS. Itchy, CURIOUS people who are done being intimidated by the scary and unfamiliar, and want to be driven to action by their fascination of the mysterious, intriguing world of all the things they can’t do… YET! Courageously, AUDACIOUS people who would rather go big and fail and come away with a cool story, than go small, succeed and settle for the unfulfilling illusion of success security. Persistently, TENACIOUS people who understand that life’s greatest rewards start at the point where all the reasonable people quit in frustration. WHY THE WORLD NEEDS ONE MILLION C.A.T.S. Too many of us have bought into the lie that discomfort must be avoided at all costs. But no great story, high achievement or fascinating life was the result of pursuing comfort. If we are to live fully alive we need to reset our comfort defaults. We need to be drawn to what’s hard and see little value in the easy and unchallenging. AS JOHN F. KENNEDY SAID: “We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard."
